I feel a sense of nostalgia when I see Royal Copenhagen's Saxon Flower pattern. It has a rather rustic image, more so than refined. A down-to-earth feel.
Even though Denmark has a plethora of plants that could serve as motifs, why did they specifically create a series based on German flowers?
Was it out of respect for Germany's famous porcelain manufacturers?
As I also mentioned regarding the morning cup and saucer acquired at the same time, I like the earthiness of Royal Copenhagen. That's just my personal opinion, though.
Leaf-shaped plates aren't very storage-friendly, but perhaps they could always be left out on the table, haha. Sometimes for snacks, sometimes for notes, sometimes for atmosphere.
The Swedish word "jordnära" combines "jord" (earth/soil) and "nära" (close), and it perfectly captures the nuance of the Japanese word "simple" or "rustic."
I remember being impressed when Daniel, Princess Victoria of Sweden's fiancé, used the word "jordnära" to describe her character during their engagement.
I felt it was wonderful for a princess to be described with such a word.
As this is a vintage item, there may be some wear and small scratches due to age and use, but overall, no prominent scratches or damage are visible.
