From Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A small European oak teapot, silver 833, from 1901.
It bears a silver hallmark.
It's a small pot, about the size of a Japanese kyusu.
(The last two photos show it with a Meissen Blue Onion teacup and saucer. This might give you an idea of its size.)
Despite its small size, it weighs approximately 318g, giving it a solid silver feel in the hand.
It measures approximately 12.5 cm H, 16 cm L from spout to handle, and has a capacity of approximately 400 ml.
Perhaps it's a pot for one person, always by their side?
The lid finial and handle are made of wood. Could this wood possibly be European oak? If so, it's almost too perfect, bringing tears to my eyes.
Bonebakker & Son was established in 1792.
There were indeed acorn lovers in 1901 too, even if their number was small.
And they created such a pot, overflowing with acorn love.
The perfect acorn shape...
There are some signs of wear and small scratches due to age and use.
No significant damage is observed.
The inside of the pot has been cleaned many times with hot water and baking powder, but some dullness remains.
No silver polish has been used.
