Meissen 1957-1972 German Bird Chaffinch Cake Plate 18cm D

The cake plate has a diameter of approximately 18cm.

There are almost no scratches or wear from use, and it is in clean condition for a vintage item.

This is a Brambling, a bird of the family Fringillidae, order Passeriformes.

Although not native to Japan, "there is a record of one individual as a vagrant bird on Rishiri Island, Hokkaido in 1990."

It's surprising that there's even a record of it, and it was a single bird that strayed to Japan.
