Antique white violet cup and saucer.
Model number is 7/1131.
This is a rare cup and saucer that, even if asked to restock it, I couldn't readily say "yes" to.
High-stand form with overglaze white violet decoration.
A single violet motif is also painted inside the cup.
The cup height is approximately 7.8 cm H, the rim diameter is approximately 7.2 cm Φ, and the saucer diameter is approximately 13.3 cm D. The cup capacity is approximately 160-170 ml.
The red Royal Copenhagen backstamp is said to have been used at the request of America for export in 1892.
However, it was purchased in Europe. I'd love to hear the story from the cup itself!
As this is an antique item, there may be small scratches and wear due to use and age, but no large, noticeable scratches or damage are present.
The violet painting shows no significant fading, and the glaze retains a beautiful luster.
The gilding also shows only minor wear.
