The goldcrest is a small bird, about 10 cm long.
However, in European folklore, it is said to be the king of birds. That's because it wears a golden crown.
The Japanese name for the bird, "Kiku-itadaki," is said to come from "wearing a chrysanthemum" (kiku o itadaku).
I thought it was "wood, eat, tap." I wondered if it ate insects in the wood. LOL.
Its round, sparkling eyes are adorable.
