Honeysuckle is native to Japan and was brought to Europe, where it was hybridized. It was apparently favored for its pleasant fragrance. Since sweet nectar comes out when you suck on it, it's called "sui-kazura" (sucking vine).

While minor scratches from age and use, and slight rubbing of the gold accents are present, no noticeable scratches or significant damage can be observed.

This plate appears to have been cherished and well-cared for.
