Personally, when I think of Royal Copenhagen's Saxon Flower, I get an image of dark brown, of earth. I thought about why this might be, and it's because brown is used in places like the handles of the custard cups and the leaf dishes. That image is very strong for me.
Using brown in the decoration of porcelain, where beauty is paramount, seems like a risky move if one is pursuing beauty. However, without rich earth, there can be no beautiful flowers. So, I like the earthy quality of Royal Copenhagen Saxon Flower, which intentionally incorporates the image of earth (?).
(Sheeta also said, "You can't live apart from the earth!!")
Furthermore, Saxon Flower comes in "light" and "rich" versions. Since it has been discontinued for a long time, it might not be of much interest, but the one with zigzag gilding is the "rich" version. However, "rich" doesn't necessarily mean it's superior; the one you like best is the best.
As this is vintage, there may be some wear and small scratches due to use and age, but it is a beautiful Saxon Flower that is becoming rare even in Scandinavia.
