On December 30th, just after 12 PM, this is how long the shadows are.
The sun is already preparing to set.
How fast it is.
Although it is the Earth that is moving.
The shadow of a human child, who has orbited the sun 6 and a quarter times, is nestled between the shadows of two large trees whose age is unknown, having orbited the sun countless times.
A new year comes to everyone, and it's time to start fresh again.
In two days, we'll all begin another orbit around the sun together.
Eating, sleeping, fighting, laughing, complaining, crying? Carrying countless lives and their joys and sorrows.
My 2025 is ending, as always, with a piling up of completely trivial things: running all the appliances until the breaker tripped, but thinking it was a blackout and spending some time in the dark with candles lit; being delighted every time the tank of my new, excellent humidifier fills up; or eating too many nuts and not being able to stop (no matter how much I eat, I don't hibernate. I greedily bought many bags because they were on sale, and I'll keep eating them until they're gone – I'm such a mess). This December has been no different.
Whether there was learning or progress is questionable for my year, one orbit around the sun.
I am grateful that I was able to live peacefully.
How was your 2025?
I hope it was a happy year.
For those who didn't have one, I hope the coming new year, a new orbit, will be a good one.
Thank you for this year. Please have a happy new year!
Neigh! 🐎 Come on!
